A Guide to Overcoming Heroin Dependency
What is Heroin? Heroin is a powerful drug that doesn’t discriminate—it consumes lives without mercy. It is not too different from morphine, which is naturally found in opium poppy plants.…
My journey with addiction began in 1968, when I became dependant at a young age. Later I became addicted to heroin for 12 years. I finally went into recovery in 1985. From then on, I have dedicated my life to working with addicts, alcoholics and their families.
I began by studying with the Health Department Victoria completing an BACCUS (Basic Understaning of Substance Abuse) & CARE (Course in Assessment Referral and Education) course, then completed Victorian Counselling Course for Drug &Alcohol Worker at Victoria College, I further studied to become an NLP (Neuro Linguistics Programming) Practitioner, also completing Train the Trainer at the Council of Adult Education and finally a Graduate Diploma of Social Science (Drug Dependence) at Phillip Institute of Technology.
I’m also recognised by Health & Community Services as a person of a ‘prescribed class’ to provide HIV counselling. After that, I held various positions in primary health care institutions in Victoria, Australia. I formed the Hader Clinic in Melbourne in 1997. Our mission at Seasons Bali is to help you rediscover the natural happiness within when a clear body and mind is allowed to manifest and expand fully. I have been enjoying mine since 1985, and I look forward to helping you rediscover yours.

Richard’s approach to recovery is deeply personal and rooted in his belief that true healing requires addressing every aspect of a person’s life. His programs are designed to go beyond treating the symptoms of addiction, focusing instead on uncovering the root causes—whether trauma, family dynamics, or life stressors—and empowering clients to rebuild their lives from the ground up. This holistic philosophy delivers real results: clinical audits reveal that 75% of clients who complete a 90-day program remain clean and sober after a year. With shorter programs achieving 50% and 35% success rates for 60- and 28-day programs respectively, Richard’s vision proves that with the right support, lasting recovery is possible for everyone.

OPRICHTER
